Name: Donald E. Blake
Rank: Staff Sgt.
Serial #: 32433360
Crew Position: Radio Operator
Carrier Group: 61st
Squadron: 53rd
Plane Type: C-47
Plane Serial #: 42-23335
Hometown: Westchester County, New York
Date: KIA 6/7/44
Memorialiozed: Tablets of the Missing*
Normandy American Cemetery
Colleville-sur-Mer, France
Awards: Silver Star, Air Medal, Purple Heart

*An after action report stated that Blake died in the dingy with Lt. Scott after the plane ditched. I is unclear if his death was caused by wounds from anti aircraft fire or head injuries sustained in the ditching. The dingy was riddled with bullet holes and Lt. Scott was unable to keep his body afloat after the dingy capsized.
